GET HERE BY 11:45 to get a table for lunch! Had a great burger for lunch - the Normande. Very flavorful local cheese, bacon, and a good brioche bun. The special dance is there, but not overpowering. Highly recommend this burger. Expect it to be prepared in the medium- rare side. Fries were good, but cut very short, more like bits of fries. Right on the square with the church and a short one block walk to the very good Airborne Museum.

The (chevre miel) burger was shockingly good. We managed to get seats when they were near full at 15:30, and after this many tried to get a table here and failed. There are no reservations so it is entirely up to your luck, but I recommend you try. The staff is quick, friendly, and they speak english. The atmosphere is good, with comfy seats and Willy's Jeeps driving by on the road. The food is excellent and there's a good selection of desserts. The crêpe was criminally good. Overall great.

A wonderful dining experience all around. The décor was tasteful, and the atmosphere was calm and comfortable. The food was spectacular—fresh ingredients, balanced flavors, and stunning plating. Every dish showed creativity and precision. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

The food & service in Bistrot 44 was excellent. We were in the area to visit some of the D-Day sites & stopped here. You can see the effigy of Pvt John Steele of the US 82nd Airborne hanging from the church as you sit outside the restaurant. I would highly recommend.

We had an excellent galette, croque madame and a banana/chocolate crepe. Nice sallads on the side. Good cider. Everything was delicious. Can recommend.

We got 2 burgers and a glass of wine. The food was excellent! The fries probably the best I had so far in France and the burgers were juicy, with great combination of cheese and bacon. Pleasantly surprised on the quality

Stopped in Sainte Marie Elise to see the statue hanging from the church to commemorate the young American paratrooper who parachuted into France on D Day, and got caught up in the spire of the church. While there we stopped into Bistro 44 and noticed everyone was eating hamburgers. We thought we would try one. Who would think I would find the best hamburger I have ever eaten in a tiny village in France.
